If you’ve ever flipped through a cookbook and swooned at the beautiful photos of food, or even watched a show or movie with a focus on decadent tablescapes or culinary montages, then you’ve appreciated the work of a food stylist. Local culinary creative, Christine Tobin, works in film, television and editorial as a stylist and consultant. You may be familiar with her brilliant work in HBO Max’s show JULIA, about the life of the late celebrity chef and TV personality, Julia Child. Christine has also done the food styling for several major films including Little Women (2019), Don’t Look Up (2021), Black Mass (2015), American Hustle (2013), among many others. Christine’s mission is to “bring stories to life through the beauty and culture of food.”

During this lecture, learn about the deep research and preparation that goes into food styling as well as how to source, develop and style recipes for photographs and/or film.
