Ramadan 2022
Undergraduates and meal plan affiliates celebrating Ramadan can expect the following:
-
The Muslim Chaplains host a nightly Iftar for the community at the SOCH.
-
If you are not attending the community Iftra, at dinnertime, individuals may request a to-go container to create a plate for consumption after sundown. These are available at all dining halls, and of course include the availability of a halal entree at every location.
-
Meal plan participants may also elect to pick up a bag of breakfast provisions at dinnertime, or participate in preparing a hot breakfast in a designated residence community kitchen using provisions supplied by HUDS.
-
Pre-bagged breakfast includes: Bagel with cream cheese, hand fruit, Chobani plain yogurt with honey, Hard boiled eggs, Trail mix, Rotating snacks such as hummus & pita chips or tabouleh & chips, Rotating cold salads such as chickpea, lentil, black bean, or edamame
-
Provisions for preparing a hot breakfast include: eggs, cheese, cut veggies (peppers and onions), breads and bagels, cream cheese, a plant-based breakfast sausage, fruit, juice.
-
For those of you coordinating group preparation of Suhoor, please note that kitchens have been identified in every House and the Yard (listed on our website). You can connect with me or directly with your dining hall manager when requesting those cooking provisions. Ideally, please notify us 1-2 days in advance and provide the ID numbers of participating students. We'll create a "packout" of corresponding amounts of food that can be picked up the night prior.
-
Residence community kitchens for breakfast preparation are listed below.

-
- If you are required to isolate in place during Ramadan, please email ds_isosdn@calists.harvard.edu. A HUDS team member will work with you to supply appropriate items during the course of your isolation.
